Engagement Details:

• 3 to 5+ years of practicing service design within an enterprise context

• 3 to 6-month contract

• Start early June to mid-June

• Must demonstrate expertise via portfolio review

• Must be located in Continental USA, preferably east of the Rockies

• Possibility to convert to FTE following contract

Harmonic Design is seeking an experienced contract service designer with 3 or more years of professional service design practice to work closely with our clients to co-create strategies and concepts for complex ecosystems. Qualified candidates are eager and capable of contributing to all aspects of the service design process while having depth in one or more of the following: design strategy, design research, conceptual design, and service prototyping.

Qualified candidates have experience and examples of doing many (but not necessarily all) of the following: journey and experience mapping, experience principles, service blueprinting, storyboarding and low-fidelity prototyping, ecosystem mapping, service value proposition and feature definition, roadmap or evolution planning, and the design and execution of service participant research (frontstage and backstage). Strong co-creation and communication skills (visual and/or writing) are also required.

In addition to those skills, we evaluate candidates on their work style. Our teams work collaboratively with one another and our clients. We look for candidates who are flexible, open, and passionate about creating positive outcomes.

On a typical engagement, you will work in a small team guiding our client through the process. Depending on your expertise and project needs, you may lead or participate in generative and evaluative research, workshop design and facilitation, North Star vision definition, service modeling, and development of concepts, prototypes, and pilots.
