Senior Service Designer

As a Barclays Senior Service Designer, you will join the design revolution within Barclays to deliver human centred designs that meet customer needs and deliver the ‘Best of Barclays’ for our customers and clients.
It will be a great opportunity for you to take a lead role across all stages the design cycle, from discovery, definition, development and delivery, bringing your experience and expertise to embed design-led thinking and service design into the projects you are part of.

What will you be doing:
• Delivering high-quality design assets that articulate customer insights, journeys and experiences, such as Service Blueprints, Customer Experience Maps and a Value Proposition Canvas.
• Applying the Service Design methodologies in your day to day work.
• Showing initiative to collaborate with other disciplines to deliver project tasks (E.g.: Product, business or visual design)
• Undertaking a variety of project work using your broad Service Design toolkit, to approach different problem statements with the right technique
• Using your understanding and curiosity to be the voice of the customer working with a mixture of stakeholders both peer to peer and at a senior level to influence on behalf of the customer
• Supporting the preparation and planning design research activities collaboratively with the Design Researcher to ensure we are seeking customer insight to aid business decisions.
• Monitoring your own work stack and prioritise to deliver to deadlines

• Creative thinker, who is not afraid of thinking outside of the box
• You enjoy working with a wide range of people, and respect the creativity that comes from diversity
• Naturally curious mind is motivated by problem solving with others
Skills that will help you in the role:
• BA or MA design courses or related courses (e.g. Behavioural Economics, Psychology) as well as candidates with relevant Design experience from other industries.
• Experience of using collaboration tools both physically and virtually as well as design software
• Experience of creating service blueprints, customer journey maps
