Senior Service Designer

Full Time

Ericsson

About this opportunity

We at the Design and User Experience department within Business Area Networks are now looking for a Senior Service Designer to contribute to the latest innovations in Ericsson’s product portfolio.
We’re seeking a strategic individual with experience working in multidisciplinary teams, applying human-centered design principles. By deepening our understanding of how customers interact with our systems and services, we aim to continuously improve our software solutions and service experiences.

Your area of expertise may be in a specific field, but your strength is thinking strategically, solving problems creatively, and working collaboratively. The role entails conducting research and projects inside R&D to understand user needs, build compelling design experiences, and assist organizations with implementation.

What you will do:

  • Lead and drive user-centered design initiatives across complex, technical telecom software domains—collaborating closely with product managers, system engineers, and developers to ensure the UX perspective is integrated throughout.
  • Facilitate and participate in design thinking workshops, co-creation sessions, and stakeholder dialogues to align on goals and unlock opportunities across teams and time zones.
  • Conduct and analyze research through interviews, desk research, and global user engagement to uncover actionable insights and support iterative prototyping.
  • Translate complex technical documentation and abstract ideas into user-friendly, clear, and actionable design concepts.
  • Create thoughtful, human-centric experiences across service touchpoints by working in cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Use storytelling and visual communication to share insights, journey maps, and concept proposals with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Develop design content, artifacts, and specifications in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other tools—supporting both local projects and broader business area collaborations.
  • Balance multiple ongoing studies and projects, bringing structure, clarity, and a user-focused mindset to everything from workshop facilitation to final delivery.

The skills you bring:

  • Human-centered design/service design experience
  • Degree in Interaction Design, Service Design, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, or related field.
  • Working experience in a design consultancy or equivalent position.
  • Ability to work independently on key workstreams in large projects or take ownership of small ones
  • Organizational skills and ability to lead multiple projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional in current software design practices.
