To this end, we need a skilled service designer who thrives in a proactive role in the large organization that the Technical and Environmental Administration is, and who has experience in facilitating processes, creating support and setting direction in projects.
You will be part of our Service and Involvement team in the Business Development unit, which is located in Staff, which is the central, supporting department in the Technical and Environmental Management . In our unit, we are responsible for running large cross-cutting projects and analyses in the organization. We must find new solutions, support management and ensure that the management is thinking all the way around.
Our work tasks are wide-ranging. In the morning, you might be involved in running a workshop with the administration’s subject specialists, and after lunch you might be working on a decision-making proposal for management. In order to be able to solve our tasks, we depend on having our finger on the pulse and developing our skills and working methods. That is why we focus on skills development and on securing inspiration from outside.

The task and direction
Together with the team and colleagues in the Business Development Department, you will work dedicatedly to ensuring that Copenhageners experience good service in their encounters with the Technical and Environmental Administration. In the unit, we work to implement strategic initiatives, both through mapping and optimizing internal workflows and by developing the city in collaboration with Copenhageners.
Your role will be to research, design, test and implement new services and solutions in close collaboration with the team and the rest of the administration.
This requires analytical skills and experience with service design, which is a key skill in the team. It would be great if you can conduct qualitative research, map and visualize service journeys, and develop and shape solution concepts that can form the basis for decisions for managers and other stakeholders.
You can look forward to your daily routine throughout the administration and come into contact with everything from the board of directors and the administration’s management to unit managers, professional employees and everyone else who will help drive the change towards a better service culture in the Technical and Environmental Administration.
Job Duties Your job duties will include, but are not limited to:
- to facilitate service design processes, including mapping and visualizing service journeys and workflows
- to analyze needs, pains, touchpoints and personas based on qualitative methods
- to develop ideas and concepts for new solutions and initiatives
- to support testing and implementation of new solutions using, among other things, prototypes
Competencies
We expect you to
- has a relevant education within e.g. service design, organizational development, co-design, design thinking or similar, as well as experience with relevant tasks within e.g. service design, user-centered design, social innovation, public innovation or similar
- has experience with and is comfortable using service design in practice and on their own
- is analytical and has experience with or interest in becoming part of a large organization
- thrives on working closely with a small team and various other professional groups
- can quickly familiarize yourself with complex business areas
