Service and UX Designer

Objective of the position
Design effective, efficient and satisfactory digital products and experiences, supported by findings, in order to add value to the digital platforms of the Public Procurement System. Promote continuous improvement through the analytical evaluation of ChileCompra’s digital solutions, framed within the State’s digital transformation strategy.

Job Functions
1. Identify and understand the needs of users.
1.1. Collect information through quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
1.2. Perform user profiling.
1.3. Investigate internal or external sources to find out relevant background information in the industry regarding specific services and/or products.
1.4. Raise current processes for a service or product.2. Design digital experiences and products, applying the people-centered design approach, institutional guidelines, and current regulations.
2.1. Develop service blueprints defining optimal functional and operational attributes.
2.2. Develop content that facilitates communication between the product and people.
2.3. Create low and high fidelity prototypes to simulate, test, and iterate digital experiences and interfaces early on.
2.4. Define and meet usability and interaction standards defined by the department.3. Collaborate with business and development teams to make decisions regarding experience design.
3.1. Maintain constant communication with business and development teams.
3.2. Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to create and validate solutions collaboratively.
3.3. Ensure the correct implementation of digital products and propose improvements during the process.4. Analyze the user experience in relation to the implemented digital projects.
4.1. Implement digital analytics tools to measure user behavior.
4.2. Constantly review and evaluate the results of the measurement tools.
4.3. Translate and report the conclusions of the studies carried out to the business areas involved in the projects and promote the continuous improvement of digital experiences.5. Work collaboratively, proactively and autonomously in multidisciplinary teams with various areas of the institution.
6. Know and understand the current regulatory framework and the public procurement system.
7. Other functions assigned by the Management or the Head of the Service Design and User Experience Department.
Function Profile
The following elements make up the Job Profile and will be used to evaluate applicants.
Educational Training
Professional degree of at least 8 semesters in length, awarded by a higher education institution of the State of Chile or recognized by it. Preferably Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Sociology, Journalism or related field.
Desirable:
Specialization in one of the following fields (courses, diplomas, etc.):
– Service design
– Usability, information architecture or similar.
– User experience research.
– UI interface design
– Accessibility
Specialization and/or Training
Minimum knowledge:
– Application of stage-by-stage service design methods (discovery, definition, design and development) in order to conceptualize and systematize insights that facilitate decision-making.
– Visual conceptualization of digital products and services.
– Ideation, structuring and creation of high-fidelity prototypes.
– UX research methodology and tools.
– Knowledge of user research (qualitative and quantitative methods).
– Knowledge of information architecture for the design of digital products.
– Design and validation of interaction flows and wireframes with users.
– Advanced use of Figma as a prototyping tool.
Desirable knowledge:
– Creation of content for digital platforms (UX Writing).
– Facilitation and conduction of co-creation workshops with users.
Public sector / private sector experience
At least 2 years of experience in digital product and experience design, applying the human-centered design approach, in public or private institutions, based on UX research findings conducted with users.
Experience working and implementing digital products in conjunction with development teams.
Desirable:
– Design of solutions using service design methods.
– Design of end-to-end digital solutions, defining visual and interface languages.
– Design and construction of design systems.
